CHAD is a program of the Methodist Mission in Cambodia (MMC). Our vision is for MMC churches to be engaging communities to experience wholeness of life – physically, socially and spiritually – as they witness to the transforming power of living the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Our goal is to improve health, well-being, food and economic security of individuals, families and rural communities by working through MMC churches.

Mr. Ken CRUZ (Philipines) is the community development specialist on the team with key contributions to conflict resolution. He provides training in leadership development for community empowerment, formation of new livelihood project groups for church and community in Battambong, Banteay Meanchey, and Siem Reap provinces, and training for pastors in theology of development at the Cambodia Methodist Bible School.

The Methodist Mission in Cambodia is a joint initiative of 5 global Methodist mission agencies including the Methodist Mission Society of the Methodist Church of Singapore, Korean Methodist Church, World Federation of Chinese Methodist Churches, CONNEXIO and General Board of Global Ministries (GBGM) of the United Methodist Church. These agencies work together with the goal of forming an autonomous Methodist Church in Cambodia with its own Khmer leadership by 2016. These agencies include missionaries, supporting churches and partners from Australia, Bangladesh, Finland, France, Kenya, Korea, Malaysia, The Philippines, Singapore, Switzerland, the USA and Zimbabwe.

CHAD has 4 goals:
1. Leadership development for holistic ministry: training leaders
2. Community based health programs: coordinating UMVIM teams, healthy living workshops
3. Livelihood and Income generation: rice banks, cow banks
4. Agricultural programs: projects and crop training
