Can I bring my children to worship?
Yes! Children are welcome at all worship services and we always have a special Children’s Sermon time. At the 9:30 service we encourage children to participate in the opening music and after the Children’s Sermon Sunday School classes begin at about 9:45. We also provide nursery care from 9:30 to Noon every Sunday for preschool children.
Where should I park Sunday morning?
We have a small lot near the elevator entrance on the South end of the church where we encourage visitors and handicapped to park. The city lot on the NE end of the church is available on Weekends but spots are rented out M-F. Street parking is available around the neighborhood
Is the building handicapped accessible?
We have elevator access to all floors on the south end of the church. Other entrances do require use of stairs.
What About Communion?
Holy Communion is served the first Sunday of every month. All are welcome to take communion in the Methodist Church regardless of age or church affiliation. Grape juice and bread are served either to to you at the altar or in the pews where we are seated.
How Can I Meet Members of the Congregation?
We have Fellowship between services downstairs in the Friendship Room. This is a wonderful time to meet new people, enjoy a cup of coffee or other refreshment, and visit with members of the congregation. If you are not sure of where to find the “Friendship Room” or would like someone to join you on your visit, please see one of the “Greeters” or “Ushers” at the sanctuary entrance.
How Can I Get to Know Others Better?
Throughout the year we have many gatherings – from Bible Studies to Pot Luck Meals to Musical Events and more – we encourage all to attend. These are the opportunites to make connections with others. Check this website, our Facebook page, the church bulletin or newsletter, or just give us a call to learn what’s on the Calendar. In addition to special events, we also offer a number of Small Group opportunities designed to grow and nurture deeper connections within our church community.
Do I have to come to church every Sunday?
No. Although we would love to see you every Sunday, we understand the challenges and pressures of today’s world, and realize it just might not be possible to do everything all the time. At Epworth we try to provide a respite from the “busy” world in which we live ~ one where you can find focus, center your heart on God, and bring about or maintain balance in your life. That said, we hope you might find that gathering for worship regularly helps ease the pressures of our “busy” world! (And really, can anybody eat just “one” potato chip?)
We offer a variety of Bible Studies and individualized spiritual plans to help people in their discipleship journey.
Worship in the Summer
During the Summer season we have no Sunday School but a big VBS week. There is always a children’s sermon and the nursery continues year round
